Programmes
HCPP are engaging and working with a number of Programmes which are being delivered across Highland. Whilst they do not report directly to the HCPP Board they support and contribute towards delivery against the HOIP. Further information on each of these Programmes can be found using the links below.
Highland Social Value Charter
In June 2024, the Highland Council agreed to establish a Social Value Charter for Renewables Investment, which sets out the community benefit expectations from developers wishing to invest in renewables in this area and what the Highland partnership – public, private and community – will do to support and enable this contribution.
Whole Family Wellbeing
The Whole Family Wellbeing Programme aims to provide holistic whole family support across Highland to families that need it. The Vision is to ensure that families can access the support they need, where they need it, and for as long as they need it.
Highland Community Food Growing
‘Growing our Future’ is Highland’s first community food growing strategy. It is part of the Highland Council’s approach to supporting community empowerment and it’s Health and Prosperity Strategy, achieving our net zero targets and improving the health and wellbeing of our communities.
The Promise
Highland have committed to this 10 year transformational plan and pledged to #KeepThePromise. This requires shifts in policy, practice and culture – ensuring that every child grows up loved, safe and respected, able to realise their full potential.
Highland Employer Charter
The Highland Employer Charter is a free initiative recognising employers who put Highland people first, promoting fair pay, wellbeing, inclusive working and opportunities to grow, while strengthening communities and economies across the Highlands.
Armed Forces Covenant
The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise by the nation that the Armed Forces Community should be treated fairly and face no disadvantage when accessing public and commercial services, with special provision made in appropriate cases for those who have sacrificed the most.
Planet Youth
Highland is piloting the Planet Youth model, in partnership with Winning Scotland. Highland are one local authority area included in the Scottish pilot, and currently there are 5 Highland secondary schools involved: Thurso High School, Wick High School, Golspie High School, Dornoch Academy and Tain Royal Academy.
